Manufacturing in the U.S. faces a labor shortage on a scale not seen in decades as our economy expands and aging workers retire. Deloitte recently completed a study that showed in the next 10 years 4.6 million new manufacturing jobs will be created, with 2.4 million that will remain unfilled. With his business, SPI Automation, Jim Wendler is offering an efficient way to fill this skills gap.

SPI Automation creates custom turnkey solutions for manufacturing and production projects for clients around the world. They work with clients to understand their needs and build solutions to automate the process from start to finish, which includes palletizing the finished product so it’s ready to be shipped out. Their work is so good that most business comes from repeat customers who love the innovative solutions and partnership SPI Automation provides.

The quality of their work speaks for itself with national recognition they’ve received like Innovator of the Year from a project where they provided the robotics to individually decorate up to 40 ice cream cakes a minute. This month, SPI Automation is celebrating their 25th anniversary. And Jim says they’re proud to have projects and machines they completed in the beginning that are still in operation.
